“networking Groups

By admin | April 17, 2007

Now that you know your Vision, your Ideal Client, how to Build Authentic Relationships, create Strategic Referral Partnerships and Client Referral Strategies, you can effectively take advantage of Networking Groups.

As you may recall, I mentioned in last month’s article that there are several marketing strategies to fundamentally build a business. The strategies are simple but not always easy, however if they are coupled with vision, vigor and a little tenacity, both business and life can be enjoyed with ease and results produced with velocity.

Remember as these strategies unfold in your reading each month, I never said it would be easy, however I am saying, it “can” be done with ease AND velocity with the right energy going in the right direction.

And you must keep in mind that you will have to address what I call the “human condition.”

The thing that will come between you and success is the “human condition”; your self imposed barriers, road blocks, and what you think you already know. Be aware of the barriers and road blocks as you read these.

Yes, I’m repeating this each month intentionally. Why? The two most prominent reasons are: to shift how you think in a way that builds your muscles to understand the fundamentals of marketing AND to address the human condition that could stop you from implementing the strategies and creating extreme success.

Keep in mind that Vision must be first.

Help answer the question about networking groups

Sales Help! What are the best networking groups to join in the Northern NJ/NYC area?
I just started a business to business sales job in NJ/NYC area and I'm wondering what are the best groups to join to help promote myself and my company. I'm going to join the Chamber of Commerce and I already belong to Toastmasters, but what else is out there? And what actually works? Thank you in advance for the help!

    Contact these places:

~Independent Living Center of Southern California (ILCSC) @ http://www.ilcsc.org
~National Council of Independent Living (NCIL) @ http://www.ncil.org

They should have some up-to-date info to share with you. I left Los Angeles almost 5 years ago & I found that PATH was a helpful place.

I have tried to do business using the small networking groups. I have been involved with people who are trying to make a living with them.
Ahhhh they don't work. WHY? People come and people go. No one stays long and very little business is done. They all become a hangout spot for an hour and a little tax right off that is not Worth even mentioning unless people are in many of these little groups.
My suggestion is to find something else to sink your teeth into.

I made a group, but when I try to post something for everyone to say it say it’s by me not the actual group. And I don’t know how to do it. :(

There are generally LEADS groups out there possibly through the chamber of commerce or rotary international. Typically the LEADS groups are limited to one professional from each profession. They do this so if one person has a LEAD, the others can benefit as opposed to compete with one another for the lead.
As with many businesses, the securities business is very cut throat and no one wants to share the potential big whale.

    Good luck.

    Hi There,

Would you like to start a yahoo group. I would join and invite a few more to join in. Hopefully with that we can get more people to network and we can benefit each other.

Perhaps you could start the group with a small core team and set the group policy or ground rules with its commitment expected from each other.

Let me know if you are starting the group and want me to contribute.

    Good Luck
