Small Business Network Tips

In order for small businesses to grow, there is need to network with other businesses, be it for partnership or for other purposes. This said, the most convenient way to network is through the Internet. You need technicians to design, install and secure the network systems for you, so that you can easily keep in touch with your net workers from the comfort of your enterprise premises.

For the network on your computers to be up and candid, you have to carefully select the most convenient software that will not keep going on and off. To do so, there is need for you to inform yourself intensively by reading books that have to do with science and technology. You can also get more information about these software on the Internet.

To mention just a few of such, there are those that have been made specifically for small business use. VoIP, or Voice over Internet Protocol in other words, is a networking system that allows you to make telephone calls over the Internet. For more information on how it works, you can always acquire more information from the Internet.

There is also the issue of using web cameras, such that you are able to see the person you are communicating to on your screen if they are also on a camera at their station. This networking makes communication more lively and it makes your communication appear like a one on one basis. Some of the most preferred cameras are Samsung Jack, Panasonic Lumix DMC ZS3S and Boxee Alpha for windows.

I don't know where your from but here in Ontario we have this thing where the government will give you $3000 + a mentor to start your own business. For young people anyways.

You should do some research and see if you have that where you live.

    Good luck!

i don’t think that DMZ is the best way how to access your PC from internet. for services such a webserver is better to setup port forwarding and not to leave whole PC open as DMZ does.

Anything..?! – Everything of the things you listed works. The most efficient tool for advertising depends on the type of business you want to advertise – convenience store is advertised in one way, home cleaning business in another way, e-store in a third way.

Email a specific newscaster that usually handles stories along the lines of yours. Or call the station directly and try to speak with someone. Pick someone specific though. You greatly increase your chances. I would also try local papers. Sometimes TV gets their stories from newspaper stories.

Since this is a mixed environment, Ethernet is the logical choice for the network type. There are several hub vendors that you could use for a wired network. If you do not have huge data security concerns(security on wireless can get complicated) and limited bandwidth (54mbps) you could go wireless (802.11b/g).
Make sure that you have a broadband connection to the Internet if you are going the hosted direction for MS Dynamics. Microsoft actually has white papers on these sorts of things…. Good Luck

you can also act as the Engineer for various Municipalities.

    city engineer
county engineer….how do you think those tiny little hamlets get thier engineering done……

also, start looking into politically active organizations. Right now for any given environmental issue, there are 2 sides….you can be the engineer for either one.

in California….there are opponents to practically every major or minor construction project or developement. Offer your expertise to anyone who will listen…..if you must…take a political stand and give a speach at one of their meetings.

be creative…..(stop being an engineer for a minute or two)
